- Still a proper Range Rover. It wades through 900mm of water, climbs 45-degree slopes and tows up to 2.5 tonnes. It's built in Solihull on the same lines as the petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions.
- The cheaper way into an electric Range Rover. At £109,810, it starts £44,260 below the full-size Range Rover Electric (from £154,070).
The Range Rover Sport Electric is on sale in the UK from £109,810, with orders opening on 30 September 2026. It's the first electric Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover's second EV after the full-size Range Rover Electric.
It matches the V8 Range Rover Sport from 0–60mph, offers up to 378 miles of range and keeps the off-road ability buyers expect.

Range, battery and charging
The Range Rover Sport Electric has a WLTP range of up to 378 miles (609km), according to JLR and Range Rover's UK website. Range Rover estimates up to 333 miles in real-world driving.
It uses a 118.5kWh battery with 800V electrics and split charging. On a fast enough rapid charger (Range Rover quotes 350kW), it can add 136 miles in 10 minutes or charge from 10–80% in around 22 minutes.
At home, a full charge takes under 19 hours on a 7kW charger, or under 7 hours on a 22kW AC charger. The battery has an eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty, and there's more on home charging in our guide.
Range Rover Sport Electric key specifications
Performance: V8 pace with electric torque
Two 260kW motors give the Range Rover Sport Electric 550hp and 850Nm, the most torque of any Range Rover Sport. With Dynamic Launch Mode engaged, 0–60mph takes 4.3 seconds, matching the P540 V8 version, and JLR says torque builds 50% faster than in the Range Rover Electric.
Its body is 61% stiffer, and its centre of gravity 73mm lower, than the plug-in hybrid Range Rover Sport's. All-wheel steering and electronic active roll control are standard on the 550hp models sold in the UK, and Range Rover has given it its own sound design.
Matt Becker, Vehicle Engineering Director, Range Rover, said: “It feels smaller, more planted and more responsive than you would imagine.”
Still a Range Rover with solid off-road capabilities
The Range Rover Sport Electric can wade through 900mm of water, climb 45-degree slopes and tow up to 2.5 tonnes. It's built in Solihull on the same production lines as the petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid Range Rover Sport.
For its final test, Range Rover drove it between 3,000ft peaks in the Carrara marble quarries in Italy, shown in the official film below.

Range Rover Sport Electric vs Range Rover Electric
There are now two electric Range Rovers, and they're easy to confuse. The Range Rover Sport Electric is the smaller, sportier car; the Range Rover Electric is the full-size flagship, on sale from £154,070 since 2 September 2026 (Source: JLR).
They share the same 550hp, 850Nm powertrain and 118.5kWh battery, and both are built in Solihull. The Range Rover Sport Electric starts £44,260 cheaper and has a slightly longer quoted range.
The road to electric Range Rovers
Range Rover opened a waiting list for the Range Rover Electric in December 2023 (Source: Land Rover). The Range Rover Sport Electric was first previewed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2026, the Range Rover Electric went on sale in September 2026, and the Sport followed on 30 September 2026.
Like the Crewe-built Bentley Torcal, it's a luxury EV designed and built in Britain.
