Jaguar Type 01: UK Price, Range, Specs and Release Date

Key points
- From £130,000, with orders in early 2027. Jaguar confirmed the starting price at the Type 01's New York premiere. First deliveries are expected in the second half of 2027.
- The most powerful Jaguar road car yet. Three electric motors give up to 1,030hp and 1,365Nm, for 0–62mph in 3.2 seconds and 62–112mph in 4.0 seconds.
- Up to 450 miles of range. That's Jaguar's WLTP estimate ahead of certification, from a 118kWh battery. Its 850-volt system can add up to 200 miles in as little as 13 minutes on a 350kW charger.
- Built in Britain on a new platform. It's the first car on Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), designed, engineered and built in the UK, with more than 360 patent applications. A 0.23 drag coefficient makes it the most aerodynamic Jaguar, the company says.
- A restart from almost zero. SMMT figures show just eight new Jaguars were registered in the UK in the first nine months of 2026, against 1,725 in the same period of 2025.

Jaguar Type 01 price and release date
Jaguar confirmed the £130,000 starting price at the Type 01's world premiere in New York on 6 October 2026. Orders open in early 2027, with first deliveries expected in the second half of 2027.
Full UK specifications haven't been published yet, so it isn't clear what £130,000 buys or whether there will be more than one power output. For now, Jaguar gives only 'up to' and 'from' figures.
Power, range and charging
Three electric motors with torque vectoring give the Type 01 up to 1,030hp and 1,365Nm, making it the most powerful Jaguar road car yet, according to Jaguar. It does 0–62mph from 3.2 seconds and 62–112mph in 4.0 seconds.
It's the first production car on Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), an electric-only platform with 50:50 weight distribution, and Jaguar says its TCS Racing Formula E team helped tune it. The 118kWh battery runs on an 850-volt system that can add up to 200 miles in as little as 13 minutes on a 350kW charger.
Jaguar estimates up to 450 miles of WLTP range ahead of certification, or up to 320 miles at sustained motorway speeds. You may also see 400 miles quoted: that's Jaguar's estimate under the US EPA test, not the WLTP test used in the UK.
Design and interior
The Type 01 is a low four-door GT with a long bonnet, a short front overhang and 23-inch wheels. Jaguar says active aerodynamics and a deployable rear spoiler help it reach a drag coefficient of 0.23.
Inside, a central spine splits the cabin into four individual spaces. The driver gets a 24-inch single-glass OLED display, a 7-inch smartphone-style touchscreen handles key controls, and a full-width 'Panoramic Soundbar' is, Jaguar says, an automotive first.

Why the Type 01 is a very important car for Jaguar
Jaguar calls the Type 01 the first of a new generation of Jaguars. Its name nods to past icons ('Type'), zero tailpipe emissions ('0') and its place as the first of the new cars ('1').
It follows the two-door Type 00 concept shown in 2024. In the meantime, Jaguar's UK sales have all but stopped: SMMT figures show eight new Jaguars registered in the first nine months of 2026, against 1,725 a year earlier.
It follows JLR's recent launch of the Range Rover Sport Electric, and joins British-built luxury EVs such as the Bentley Torcal.
