BMW's familiar X3 SUV forms the basis for this all-electric version, keeping the same solid build quality and comfortable driving position as the petrol and diesel models. An 80kWh battery gives up to 292 miles of range, among the strongest figures in this line-up, and DC rapid charging reaches 150kW, allowing a 10 to 80 per cent top-up in around half an hour. Boot space is 510 litres, slightly less than the combustion X3 due to the underfloor battery. M Sport trim adds sportier suspension and styling, along with larger wheels that trade a little efficiency for road presence.
